This months question is: I often experience tightness on one side of the back and sometimes just in my thigh or in the right buttock. It is there all the time, but usually after I have done a long time or have started running more regularly, as when the weather is warm in spring.

Most riders realize that it is important to have good strength in the hamstrings and quadriceps, and that these muscles must be flexible enough, or at least balanced to help prevent injuries. But what many of these same riders fail to recognize is that these muscles attach. More specifically, the muscles of the front and rear legs that move the hips and knees are inserted into the pelvis, part of the lower back.

The more distance you use the most important thing is to have good balance and strength in the muscles of the lower back and pelvis. The small muscles of the lower back to help support a good posture and running form. If these muscles are weak changes in the position of a broker, and now there is the stress placed on the irregular lower leg muscles that can cause injury. In addition, an imbalance between the muscles of the lower back and abdominal muscles (most people is that stomach muscles are not as strong as they should be) may lead to the same problems. A good chiropractor or a physiotherapist should be your first choice to examine and determine what type of imbalance.
