back pain diagnosis

If you ever said, "Oh, my aching back!" You're not alone. Backaches are one of the medical problems most common, affecting 8 to 10 people at some point during their lives. Back pain can range from a dull ache and constant sudden, sharp. Acute back pain appears suddenly and usually lasts from several days to several weeks. Back pain is called chronic if it lasts more than three months.
Most back pain disappears by itself, although it may take some time. Taking pain relief prescription and relaxation can help. However, staying in bed for more than 1 or 2 days may worsen the situation.
Acute or short-term back pain at the bottom usually takes several days to several weeks. Most acute back pain is the result of trauma to the lower back or a disorder such as arthritis. Pain from trauma may be caused by a sports injury, work at home or in the garden or a sudden jolt, like a car accident or other stress on spinal bones and tissues. Symptoms may muscle pain go to the shooting or stabbing; limited flexibility and range of motion, or an inability to stand.
Chronic back pain is pain that persists for more than 3 months. It is often progressive and the cause may be difficult to determine.
The lowest is return a complex area that connects the upper body (including the trunk and arms) to the lower body (including the pelvis and legs). The lower back consists of several vertebrae, disks of soft cartilage, muscles, joints, ligaments and nerve tissue.
Diagnosis
Blood and urine will ensure that the pain is not due to an infection or a systemic problem than others.
X-rays are useful to locate broken bones or other skeletal defects. Sometimes it can help identify problems of tissue. To analyze the soft tissue damage, computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be necessary. X-rays and image studies generally used to verify that the direct trauma on the back, backache, fever, or nerve problems such as weakness or numbness of the limbs. To determine possible nerve or muscle, an electromyogram (EMG) may be useful.
Structural problems
In some cases, back pain may be caused by structural problems, such as:
 • bulging or rupture discs. The act as cushions between the vertebrae discs of spinal cord. Sometimes, the soft material that is inside a disc bulge in May out of place or rupture and press on a nerve. But many people who have bulging or herniated disc does not feel the pain of the disease.
 • Sciatica. If swelling or a herniated disc presses the main nerve that runs along the legs, can cause sciatica – Sharp, shooting pain in the buttocks and back of the leg.

Help! My husband is unhappy with chronic back pain, which could be the cause or diagnosis?
My husband has had chronic back pain for about a month now and has been in and out of the office not only physicians but also emergency rooms. She lost a lot of work and he could lose his job. He is a chef and cooking in woks over 40 hours per week. He has been perscribed Flexeril 10mg, 500mg and 750mg Vicodin, Motrin 800 Tramdol Robaxin 50mg and 750mg. Im starting to worry that it does more harm than your body, because the way it does not help much. He recently tested the nerve done, but results show only a slight pain. You're at the point where I'd rather be paralyzed in this type of pain. Doctors give it a custom MRI (if they help even). Im wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms and if so, what was the outcome? What steps should we take?
I hate to say this, but an MRI is just what you need and I do not know why a doctor will not give one. AX Ray shows that the husband she probably has a ruptured or herniated disc, perhaps in his sciatic nerve. You need an MRI to detect on radiographs do not show soft tissue injuries. My proposal is to insist that the magnetic resonance occurs. I have dealt with the same type of situation when his back began to hurt and because of the expectation of MRI and the lack of concern of some doctors who now have serious sciatic nerve damage and chronic back pain, and have never been back to work. Most likely not have a hitch so you may want to stop taking the flexeril, sometimes worse. Regarding the revenue that her husband was prescribed assumes that doctors know what is in the back and is expected that the swelling will go down and "cure" himself for a while. It is not likely to occur if this pain, however much it. I know what you hear about what they want to be paralyzed by cons, can not even begin to describe the pain today, but it is horrible for me to believe. Ice on his back at all, I found that the formation of ice around L4/L5 lower back, then the hip area helps a little if you like, no more ice alternating with heat about 15 minutes each. Again, MRI is exactly what you need from your husband! They require no hospital can refuse a patient with pain. If so, go directly to the patient's advocate the hospital who are there to help and they will. I hope you get the help you need soon. If I can help at all if you please email me. PS Please do not go to a chiropractor, I have seen many people who were seriously injured by them when Back pain is so extreme. If necessary, your doctor would say.
